Why would you want a “free trial”?

Many software systems (and it appears particularly those from the USA) offer a “free trial,” usually after you’ve provided the details of your credit card to be charged in a week or months’ time. If you operate a “standard” business with products just like everyone else, then a free trial system might meet your needs, but our experience is that not many successful businesses are like that.

A Cyrane system doesn’t offer this facility for several excellent reasons.

Firstly, we believe that each of our customers has a unique business. Its products, the channels it sells through, and its warehouse and despatch arrangements will require individual setup and configuration to achieve the best outcome and maximise efficiency. A consultation process allows us to get this process right with customers throughout the implementation process. A free trial will only go so far, and the fact you can try it for free implies that the system has to be simple to set up with limited options for complex products, particular warehouse or distribution requirements or custom integrations with suppliers or sales channels. A Cyrane order management system is integral to our implementation plans for customers, always needs a deeper understanding of customer requirements, and often requires our assistance to implement the setup.

Secondly, your data is not only precious, but configuring it for a new system can be time-consuming and needs to be done correctly the first time. Almost certainly, you will have accumulated data errors, duplicate customers, products, etc. Implementing a new system is an ideal opportunity to cleanse the data and start with a clean sheet, and Cyrane will assist with this and help you start with a clean sheet.

Thirdly, Sales Channel integration. With significant sales channels now available, integration with these becomes a major headache for many customers.
